Traditional hardwood strip flooring is the most susceptible to developing a case of the squeaks but all types of flooring can make annoying noises. At times some floors appear to amplify creaking sounds and make them sound much worse than they really are. The contractor removed the transition wood threshold while installing door and replaced it. Creaks coming from wood floors happen for a number of reasons from loose nails to separation from the subfloor.

New floor installation being prepared reinforced above with deck 2 1 2 screws and below nailed 2 6 supports between joists every 16 or so.
